Graduation Coaches are assigned to each of the four high schools in Morgan County. These professionals cultivate a positive adult relationship with students, encouraging regular school attendance. Each Graduation Coach holds a professional teaching license and has the ability to counsel students in school-rated matters, career options, and social/emotional issues.Graduation Coaches monitor daily attendance and make phone calls to parents when their child is absent. Coaches also look for attendance/absence patterns and work with school administrators and the Special Services Director to identify "At Risk" students. The Coaches play an integral role in helping "At Risk" students formulate a plan for remediation and work toward graduation. They serve as the communication hub between these students, their teachers, and their parents to provide motivation and encouragement through conferences, attendance monitoring, and incentive plans.
