Morgan County Schools would like to highlight our educators so that readers can learn a little bit about that teacher and gain an insight into what motivated that person to become a teacher. One of the questions that we asked teachers was "What lasting impact would you like to leave on the students of Morgan County?" Below are their responses. We hope that you enjoy!

- I want to be remembered for: 1. My ENORMOUS love for Science-hopefully, I have instilled some of it in them. 2. My ENORMOUS love for them. As part of this love, I want them to always remember that I always want what's best for them. I want them to be as successful as possible and will strive to make sure they get the best education possible. The other part of the LOVE is to remember they are my babies for life. I LOVE watching my former students grow and be successful in all the many stages of their lives! I am here to support them, help them, cheer them on for LIFE!

- I love teaching preschool because students are creative in the most pure and unfiltered form. They learn new things out of curiosity and a natural love for learning. My hope is that as they become older and classes become more structured and rigid, they will continue to nurture their creative talents and always value learning. If so, my time here is worthwhile.

- Of course, I would like my students to gain the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in the classroom and in their life. - Plutarch says that the mind is not a cup to be filled, but a fire to be kindled. What I teach my students is less important than teaching them how to learn. I hope my students leave with a hunger to find out new things and the confidence to seek those things out.

- I know a hungry child cannot learn, so our goal is to insure the students receive nutritionally balanced, safe meals of the highest quality possible while abiding by federal and state guidelines. "We think about food because they can't think without it!"

- I want my students to look back and say, because they were introduced to many different literary works in my class, they now enjoy reading for pleasure.

- I want my students to understand that agriculture includes much more than just farming. It encompasses a wide range of topics, such as machinery, mechanics, animal science, environmental science, and even business. Students hear agriculture and they immediately assume tractors and crops. While that is a major part of the industry, I want to make sure students gain factual knowledge and understand of all areas of agriculture.
