Morgan County Schools

The BackPack program, formally know as "Food for Kids" is a collaborative effort between Second Harvest Food Bank and schools throughout East Tennessee, including Morgan County.  The strategy is simple.  Teachers identify children in their classrooms whom they believe might be in need of supplements to their meals at home.  These children are discreetly given a sack full of healthy food for themselves (and any siblings they may have at home) every Friday throughout the school year.

 

We currently provide for approximately 300 students located at five schools within our district.  In addition, Oakdale School also has a Summer Backpack Program sponsored by their community.
