Rationale
-
In the course of the evaluation process, determination may be made that a tenured teacher is performing in a manner which is detrimental to the students being taught. The professional assistance network is designed to help the marginal teacher improve sufficiently to meet a level of professional standards required in order to be an effective teacher. The opportunity for professional assistance may be offered at the discretion of the building administrator and/or the Director of Schools. Assistance may be made available when there is a reasonable expectation of satisfactory performance upon completion. Prior to initiating the professional assistance network, the principal shall inform the Director of Schools.
