Tom Collins Trailer Show Transcript hello I'm Tom Collins I'm originally from Oakdale Tennessee but I went to school in Wartburg Tennessee and graduated from Wartburg Central High School in 1993 and currently I am the vice chair for faculty and academic Affairs at the University of ky's College of Medicine and Department of paediatrics and I'm a Pediatric Cardiologist I would say first and foremost the the thing that I feel like I was put on the earth to do is to help other people do great things I is like science I like people I thought medicine would be great but I grew up as a lot of folks in Morgan County without having a lot of what we would call resources I'm a little kid from Oakdale Tennessee from graduated from Wartburg Tennessee Place nobody's heard of quote unquote and I was in the ivy league and I was at the best program in the world for any student out there who's thinking hey maybe I want to be a doctor or go into the healthcare field and things like that let me say first you can do it okay that doesn't mean it'll be easy but you're from Morgan County and and we know what it's like for life to be hard there were a lot of people who I've come across in my career who didn't believe I could do it but they don't know where I'm from
