Testing & Evaluation
Helping your child navigate the school year means understanding the milestones that track their progress. Beyond daily homework and unit tests, students participate in State and District Assessments. These evaluations provide a "snapshot" of student learning, helping us ensure our curriculum meets high standards and that every child receives the support they need.
🧭 Navigating the Testing Landscape
Testing is generally divided into three main categories. Each serves a different purpose in your child’s educational journey:
-
Universal Screeners (Fall, Winter, Spring): Short assessments given to all students K-8 to identify those who may need extra help or advanced enrichment.
-
Nine Weeks Tests (Quarterly): Check-ins that help teachers see how well the class is mastering the specific material taught during that grading period.
-
TCAP & EOC (Fall & Spring): Semester/Year-end tests required by federal and state law. These measure how well students have met grade-level standards in core subjects like Math, English Language Arts (ELA), and Science.
